Ms. Paige Edwards, Dance Director
Paige Edwards' love for dance began around the age of five at APAC Studio with a focus on ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical. Some of her favorite adolescent memories were during her Drill Team days as a Jersey Village Gold Duster where she helped lead the team each year serving as Junior Lieutenant and Colonel her junior and senior year. She completed her Bachelor's in Business Administration and a Dance Minor while dancing and teaching with student organizations such as Fade to Black and Dance Arts Society at Texas A&M. After graduation, she completed a dance & business internship through Performing Arts Abroad in Barcelona, Spain with Varium Espai de Moviment and has experience teaching and dancing with various studios in Austin. In the Fall of 2018 - Spring 2021 she was the Dance Teacher and Drill Team Director for LBJ/LASA First Ladies and looks forward to the opportunity to establish the LASA Velocity Dance Team and further develop the LASA Dance program! Ms. Edwards is also trained with a 200 Vinyasa YTT through Wanderlust Yoga and incorporates many practices such as meditation, movement, and overall health and wellness into her teachings. To her, dance is a beautiful source of creativity, health, friendship, and a way to connect with your community, and she loves to inspire these joys within her students.

Ms. Laurie Park, Assistant Dance Director
Laurie Park joined the LASA Dance leadership in 2023, adding to her duties as LASA Academic Counselor. Dance was a big passion of hers growing up, and although it's been a while since she danced in high school, she knows the dance team life very well. She's practiced ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap, lyrical, and modern dance. Most recently, Ms.Park was excited to add Latin dancing to her repertoire and found it so fun! This year she's focused on helping with team dynamics as the number of dancers continues to grow. Ms. Park has a BA in Liberal Studies with an emphasis on Linguistics from the California State University, San Marcos. She spent two years as an ESL teacher at a K-12 school in Ecuador, She's an avid traveler, and enjoys learning about other cultures. Since receiving her MA in Counseling from the University of San Diego, she's worked in education for 10 years in different roles. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs and doing DIY projects. Born in Houston, she's excited to be in Austin and dancing again!
